UNIVERSITY OF TYUMEN (UTMN, Tyumen State University) is one of the largest and the best universities in Russia with more than 20,000 students including 2,000 international students. UTMN is the first university to introduce a new educational model allowing students to form their own curriculum along with the study of certain compulsory courses.
UTMN has a large campus in the city center (15 modern educational and laboratory buildings), a library center, a developed sports infrastructure.
The university has its own multidisciplinary Preparatory Department for international students to study the Russian language, and receive a certificate allowing them to be enrolled in educational programs in Russian.

Within the new educational model "2+2" students have 2 years of general courses in English combined with the Russian language preparatory course. The first introduction to the program chosen will be through the choice of electives. The last semester of the 2-nd year will contain a number of professional modules. Third year is the time to choose your major with the number of profile modules all oriented at professional issues in Russian language.
