The Bonch-Bruevich Saint - Petersburg State University of Telecommunications is the oldest and most famous university of the Russian Federation, the universally recognized leader of Russian higher education in the field of training for the communications and telecommunications industry. Beginning in 1930, when a special higher educational textbook on radio engineering and telecommunications was created on the basis of the Higher Course Communications in Leningrad, and to this day the status of the university remains invariably high. Among his graduates are scholars representing public and political figures working in all corners of the world. Currently, the university has 28 faculties, including 6 basic departments of industry enterprises; military training center; Graduate Institute; Institute of Continuing Education (Department of Higher Education, Department of Continuing Professional Education); Research Institute "Communication Technologies"; College of Telecommunications and 2 branches - Arkhangelsk and Smolensk College of Telecommunications.
